Some very cute little guests in Animal Science today! Two of Griffin Jensen's little piglets were brought in today, where our students were able to witness how baby pigs are ear-notched, tail clipped, and doctored!

To continue our push for industry experiences at the Middle School level, Mrs. Felz and Mrs. Oehmcke have hosted two more Zoom meetings with industry professionals from across the United States as they work to develop, design, and build a cookbook. Aaron Murray in Marketing with Ken Cook and Madison Andropolis, a food photographer, pastry chef and published cookbook author, have visited with 55 middle students to introduce them to a variety of unique career pathways. We are grateful to the speakers, as well as the staff that have released kids to collaborate each week. The next industry rep to speak is Jenna Baker, a Senior Marketing Executive at Rodelle.

Santa’s Hat is in the final stages. Most presents have been wrapped and turned in. The supplies for food boxes have been purchased and sorted. Fourteen families and 27 children will be provided with holiday gifts and food thanks to the generosity of the Three Forks Community, Three Forks Market, Empire Arms, Town Pump Foundation, Travis Buttelman, Pat and Gene Townsend, Manhattan State Bank, Opportunity Bank and First Security Bank. Violet Donnelly has done a remarkable job coordinating the project this year. Thank you everyone for supporting this project and making the holidays happy and bright for so many.

We celebrated the classrooms from each school that gathered the most food during our pre-Thanksgiving food drive that Mrs. O's Marketing students organized. Regardless of which team we root for when casting those votes, the Headwaters Area Food Bank was the ultimate winner, happily accepting over 2400 pounds and nearly $240 that our students brought in. In the Elementary, Mrs. Perrin's Third Grade took top pound-count honors while Mrs. Lower's Sixth Grade pulled in the most weight for the Middle School. Mrs. Shippey's Freshmen, not picture, brought in the most in the high school. A student from each winning class was then drawn for a FREE 2025-2026 Yearbook. Thanks to all for participating.

We have a wonderful community that rallies behind its kids and the groups they participate in. Our Powerlifting Club extends a heartfelt thank you to Pam at Legacy Trading for hosting our fire pit raffle during last weekend's Christmas Stroll. The kids were able to fundraise just over $1100 to offset the costs associated with transportation, registration fees, and more. The fire pit was on display during the Magris tournament and Three Forks Christmas Stroll, with $1175 in funds raised.
To make it even better, students in Mr. Schilf’s welding class built the pit with tickets available directly from Mr. Provenza or Mr. Schilf, priced at $5 each of $20 for 5 tickets. To donate, purchase tickets or learn more, reach out to Mr. Provenza at sprovenza@threeforks.k12.mt.us.

🏀 Little Wolves Basketball – Coaches Needed for 5th & 6th Grade 🏀
We are looking for additional coaches to help support our 5th and 6th grade Little Wolves Basketball teams. Due to the high level of interest from students, we need more coaches to ensure a safe, organized, and positive experience for everyone.

Recently, Mrs. Felz and Mrs. Oehmcke combined forces for a CTE Industry and Career Day. Thanks to itinerary planner, Rich Ward, students were able to experience a full tour of the HRDC’s programs and the many ways they serve our communities as well as an insider look at what YES Compost does. The day began at Housing First Village with an honest look at the housing crisis, high-barrier sheltering, and chronic homelessness. At Wheat Suites, students learned about non-congregate housing, family transitions, and long-term support. Shifting gears, we headed to Market Place where the kids were introduced to Blueprint and the services available for local youth as well as a tour of Fork & Spoon, the warehouse, and the food bank. Our Three Forks students were put to work and helped sort canned goods. The morning wrapped up at Homeward Point with a guiding group through the shelter, congregate housing and emergency quarters, sharing about career and volunteer opportunities.
After picking up a quick lunch to eat on the road at Jimmy Johns, Karl Johnson, the owner of YES Compost in Belgrade, discussed how organic waste is collected from area homes and businesses, and what happens to that waste once it arrives at the compost facility. He explained the science of composting, including decomposition, temperature control, and how microorganisms break down food scraps into usable soil. During the tour, students walked through different areas of the facility to observe compost piles at various stages of the process, including the vermi-composting greenhouse, heated solely from the temperatures found within the composting piles, year round.
