Missoula Chidlren's Theatre kicked off yesterday with nearly 50 K-12 students auditioning for the show. Shortly thereafter rehearsals began. Rehearsals will continue this week, taking place each night from 4-8:15 p.m. If your child is taking part in MCT they should have come home with a letter describing expectations also sharing a schedule for auditions. It is imperative that parents understand this schedule and make proper arrangements for transportation to and from practice. If your child is done with rehearsals at 6:00, please be at the high school office prior to 6 to pick them up. If your child is scheduled to have rehearsals to 8:15, please be here prior to 8:15. We have volunteers keeping this program going and we encourage parents to respect their time and make proper arrangements. The week will conclude with the production of "The Little Mermaid" on Friday night at 7 p.m. and again on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. All interested theatre-goers are encouraged to attend and enjoy a great show!!

Ballots have been sent out from the County Elections Office. If you did not receive a ballot you can contact 406-582-3060. The wording on the ballot indicates "market value". This is the required language but actually refers to the assessed valuation of your property. Further, the ballot language refers to the annual cost, not monthly. You can use this link to enter your property address to obtain your current assessed market value. https://svc.mt.gov/dor/property/prc

High School Track & Field competed in Belgrade and Cheney, WA. over the weekend. There was a tremendous amount of competition and our wolves competed well. We had another dozen or so PRs on Saturday. A few of our big PRs were Bryon Fanning and Beau Johnston's efforts in the 3200m. Bryon ran a 10:15:57 while Beau came in 10:14:70. Senior Michael McIlwraith PRd with a long jump of 18' 8.75". Over the next month Three Forks School District will be sharing some frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the May general fund mill levy. In these posts the District will be providing answers to the FAQs in addition to other helpful information to better inform the voting public. If you need further clarification, please contact Superintendent Uthlaut @ 285-6830, ext. 124. FAQ: If approved, how would this general fund mill levy affect my taxes? Answer: Based on the 2022 tax base of assessed market value, this levy will increase property taxes in the following ways: approximately $64.65 a year for a $100,000 home, $129.30 a year for a $200,000 home and $193.95 a year for a $300,000 home. This amounts to $5.39, $10.78 and $16.16 per month, respectively. Tax base values for 2023 will be made available in August 2023. As the tax base increases with time, the burden on individual taxpayers is reduced. The assessed valuation is NOT what you would expect as a resale value. You may look up your assessed market valuation at the following link: https://svc.mt.gov/dor/property/prc

The Three Forks high school Earth Scientists got out and enjoyed the wonderful spring weather at the Logan Landfill on Wednesday! They learned about solid waste disposal and maintenance as part of a unit on natural resources which focuses on what resources people use and how we use them. Huge thanks to the Logan Landfill's Recycling and Outreach Educator, Patricia Howard, for not only coming in to the classroom to teach students about the landfill but also for graciously taking them on a "behind the scenes" tour
